It’s Cape Town’s most iconic landmark, and it’s a must for any visit to the city. It’s Table Mountain, and whether it’s standing proudly in the sunshine or draped in a blanket of clouds, it’s the Mother City’s most spectacular feature. There are some fun activities to do on Table Mountain:

Safety

The Cobras are a private funded guarding service. Patrolling our mountain 365 day a year, from 7am - 7pm. The Cobras patrol the marked route that loops from Arcadia/Top Road around Lions Head to Kloof Nek, alongside Signal Hill to the Kramat and back down Pats Track to Arcadia/Top Road. As well as the path to the Round House picnic area in Camps Bay. The guards are PSIRA-registered, trained in Security as well as basic first aid.

We are so lucky in Cape Town to have our amazing Table Mountain National park. There are so many incredible hikes with varying difficulties to do. Some of the most popular ones include India Venster, Skeleton Gorge, Nursery Ravine and Kloof Corner.

This really is a stunning and quite thrilling experience that people of all ages can enjoy. Note, it’s not for the faint-hearted! The ride itself is only about 2 minutes and the floor of the Cable Car turns, great for taking in all the sensational views.

Hike Lions Head

Lion’s Head is one of Cape Town’s most popular hikes. With a variety of routes for all ages and fitness levels, the 5.5km hike takes anywhere from 1.5 to 2 hours – perfect for an early morning, late afternoon or even an evening climb. For your safety, we recommend that you take:

A charged phone, Water, Snacks or a picnic, Sunscreen, A flashlight or headlamp for night hiking, Camera, Hiking shoes, and something warm in case of a sharp temperature drop
