A Gatsby is a traditional Cape Town favourite! It is a large French loaf filled with your choice of meat (normally steak, chicken or polony), chips (french fries) and salad. It is then smothered in your sauce of choice. If you come to Cape Town, this is something you HAVE to try! Be prepared for a lot of food, it can easily feed 6-8 people!

A traditional Southern Africa snack. It is meat that is cured using various spices and vinegar and then hung in a warm enclosed environment to cure. We know it sounds gross but trust us when we say, it is delicious! You also get droewors which is sausage done the same way.
A braai is what the rest of the world calls a Barbeque. A staple way for South Africans to eat and spend time with friends and family. Staples at a Braai would be boerewors (beef sausage), chops potato salad and braai broodjies. These are sandwiches toasted on the flame of the braai.
