No trip to Cape Town is complete without a visit to the world-famous Garden. These incredible 528 hectares are filled with Cape Town's fynbos, this incredible plant species is ONLY found in the Western Cape, how amazing?! The gardens also include many smaller themed gardens including medicinal, fragrance and Proteas.
Also be sure to take a walk along the “Boomslang”. Walk along a wooden bridge built above the tree canopies and see what it’s like viewing the gardens from above.
If you’re looking for something a bit tougher than a leisurely walk, there are quite a few hikes that leave from Kirstenbosch, the toughest being Nursery Ravine and Skeleton Gorge.
Choose to bring in your own picnic or go to one of the incredible restaurants within the gardens but you won’t be short of delicious food and drinks.
Enjoy watching local bands and groups perform in the gardens. This is an amazing experience and it is definitely something for the memory bank when visiting Cape Town. They’re always late afternoon into the evening so you get to sing under the stars. Just make sure you pack something warm for the evenings as it can get chilly.
