Explore the old Pine Tree Plantation on one side of this forest and on the other, walk through the rehabilitated Fynbos vegetation areas. At the centre of the 4km paved trail, visit the Secret Forest Cafe and enjoy a cup of coffee and a local snack.

One of Cape Town’s most popular trails, you can either go to the top of Table Mountain from this starting point, or you can head to Cecilia Forest and Kirstenbosch. You can choose to go up the single-track trail or the jeep track which is a little easier and good for the whole family. After a great hike, you can also pop across the road to La Parada restaurant.

Cecelia Forest is a thick and dense forest trail but with easy routes perfect for the whole family. Make sure to stop at the waterfall hidden at the centre.

A great family outing to Newlands. This forest has many trails with various difficulties so it’s great for everyone to visit. This forest is also centrally located in Cape Town so it’s easy to get to and explore.
